13	Geographic browsing	olivier		"With Joséphine we've had the following idea: a simple way to browse the data according to its geographic coverage. This feature, which is particularly relevant to ethnomusicology, would consist in a user interface where you can first choose which continent you are interested by.

Then, within that continent, you could choose a country, so that you eventually see the media collection and/or items that are related to that particular country. I believe this is a very intuitive way to browse the sounds according to their geographic location and thus ethnic groups. I can easily imagine that it will also seduce non-specialists, who will suddenly feel like they have an easy access to sounds coming from the whole world.

By the way, the CNRS Ethnomusicology database already contains country/continent fields. So it should be rather easy to make a such geographic browser. 

However, this isn't only good for ethnomusicology: Dublin Core specifies the ""coverage"" metadata term as ""The spatial or temporal topic of the resource, the spatial applicability of the resource, or the jurisdiction under which the resource is relevant.""

Anyway, I believe it should be possible to disable this ""geographic browser"", for contexts where it's not useful.
